The Most Incredible Miracle Happened at this Glacier National Park Elopement
Elopements make for an epic story. The adventure of traveling, the incredible views, and even the space to create a memorable experience. This Glacier National Park elopement had all those elements, but a curve ball was thrown that day. It was one of those, "you have to see it, to believe" moments. Keep reading to find out what happened on this Glacier elopement day.
Abby & Wyatt both grew up in North Dakota. They met one day at the North Dakota State Fair. It wasn't until sometime later that they ended up matching on Tinder. Abby was excited to have found "the guy from the fair".
Their relationship didn't come without some obstacles. They dated long-distance for a while. Wyatt was in Missouri for basic training. That only grew them closer as a couple. On the night of their engagement, Wyatt receives a call that he has to leave the next day for a deployment. It was devastating news.
At first, their plan was to get married in North Dakota. It is where they both grew up, fell in love, and all their family was there. As they tried planning a wedding while living miles apart, they realized this was not the planning experience they wanted. They decided to push the wedding back a year and wait for Wyatt to return home. When the deployment was over, they continued to plan a wedding in North Dakota. The more they tried to plan the more they realized that was not the experience they wanted.
They soon found that a Glacier National Park elopement was the perfect experience for them. They chose Sun Point as their ceremony location. In June of 2023, they made the 12-hour journey to Montana with their closest friends and family. They found a beautiful Air B&B in Whitefish, Montana. It was the perfect spot to gather with their loved ones and have a relaxing day of getting ready before they say "I do".
The Unbelievable
You're probably wondering what the miracle was. What made this Glacier Elopement even more epic? Everyone got ready in Whitefish, Montana. Sunpoint is in East Glacier. It was about a three-hour drive from the Air B&B to the ceremony location. June was an unseasonably rainy month for Montana. It poured the entire drive to the ceremony site. Everyone was nervously checking their phones to see if the radar would show any promise for a dry ceremony or at least lighter rain. There was no hope in sight.
Upon arriving at East Glacier National Park, everyone stopped at the visitor's center. The ranger said the rain did not look like it was going to lift until later in the night. Abby, in her completely calm nature, said "Let's just drive to the ceremony spot and see what happens". Everyone got back in the vars and headed to the spot, heavy rain absorbing every possible surface.
As we weave our way through the mountains there, is a small clearing in the sky. Almost a perfect circle. The land within this circle was saved from the downpour. It just so happened that this little bubble of dryness was Sun Point. It truly was something from a movie. The best outcome to a beautiful love story!
Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Abby & Wyatt exchanged their vows in one of the most beautiful spots on this earth!
